Taco Bell's DEMOLITION MAN-Themed Commercial is a Dramatic and Intense Ad For Nacho Fries

Taco Bell has released a new commercial/trailer for the return of their nacho fries and it's the most dramatic and intense commercial I recall seeing for a fast food chain! The ad stars Josh Duhamel and it ties into the 25th anniversary of Demolition Man. This is the description that was offered by AdWeek:

In the riveting advert for Web of Fries II: Franchise Wars, we see the return of hero Josh Duhamel in a future dystopia where the downtrodden common people have launched a rebellion against Big Fry, which is attempting to hide the truth from the public about nacho fries.

Marisa Thalberg, chief brand officer of Taco Bell, talked about the commercial/trailer, saying:

"When you create a fake trailer for a fake movie for a real product that surpasses all expectations of products (and movie trailers), it seems inevitable that you have to create a sequel. And what better way to tease this sequel than pay homage to a real movie’s 25th anniversary—one that had a very compelling view of a fictional future?"

In Demolition Man, Taco Bell is revealed to be the only restaurant chain that survived the "Franchise Wars." You can watch both the original commercial and the new one below. I like this kind of marketing because it's so much fun! Enjoy!

Nacho Fries are back. And so are the sinister "Burger People," who'll stop at nothing to protect their salt-and-ketchup monopoly. Now it's up to Clara and a spicy band of cheese sauce-loving rebels to take the starch out of "Big Fries," and ensure a more flavorful future for all.

A family man (Josh Duhamel) inquires why Taco Bell doesn't serve fries, but finds he's bitten off more than he can chew when a sinister "Big Fries" conspiracy threatens to destroy everything he holds dear. _ Contact: advertising.nycity@gmail.com
