Taika Waititi and Jude Law Are Teaming Up For a Showtime Limited Series Titled THE AUTEUR
Taika Waititi, fresh off his Best Screenplay Oscar win for Jojo Rabbit, has jumped on board another new project. The project is a limited series set up at Showtime titled The Auteur and Jude Law is set to star in it.
Waititi is one of the most in-demand directors in Hollywood right now and he can pretty much do whatever he wants at this point. So, the fact that he’s chosen to be a part of the development of this series tells us it’s a project that he really likes. Waititi will produce and co-write the series with Peter Warren and he will also direct multiple episodes.
The story for the series is told from the point of view of an eccentric “auteur” played by Law, and it’s also said to be a satire on Hollywood. Other than that, we don’t have any story or plot details to share with you. But, the fact that it will be a satire on Hollywood definitely perks my interest.
Waititi’s next big project is Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder and Law is about to start shooting the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. There’s no word on when exactly they’ll get around to working on The Auteur, but I imagine it’ll happen when they are finished with these upcoming projects.
