Taika Waititi Is a Cult Leader in This Insane Trailer for the Dark Comedy SEVEN STAGES TO ACHIEVE ETERNAL BLISS

For those of you looking to add a little dark comedic weirdness in your life, we’ve got a trailer for you to watch for a film titled Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss, which was previously titled Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss by Passing Through the Gateway Chosen by the Holy Storsh. That title was way too long, so it’s a good thing the filmmakers changed it!

The story for the film centers on a couple who move into an apartment only to have members of a cult break into the apartment one by one to commit suicide in their bathtub. As I said, it’s dark, but sprinkled with a little comedy. Here’s the synopsis:

An offbeat comedy about a couple taking a chance on a place with impossibly low rent, not knowing the former occupant was a cult leader. To make matters more bizarre, an endless string of followers routinely break into their home to ceremoniously sacrifice themselves.

As you might expect, the couple is disturbed by this madness, but then they end up wanting to help the cultists in their efforts to kill themselves. Did I mention this is a dark comedy? Look, I’m a sucker for these kinds of films, so I’ll probably check it out. It’s definitely not for everyone.

The movie comes from director Vivieno Caldinelli from a script written by Christopher Hewitson, Justin Jones, and Clayton Hewitson.

The couple in the film is played by Kate Micucci and Sam Huntington, who you’ll easily recognize, and the rest of the cast includes Dan HarmonRhea SeehornMark McKinneyBrian PosehnMaria Bamford, Josh BrenerMindy SterlingDana Gould, and Taika Waititi as the cult leader.

Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss will arrive in theaters on March 6th, 2020, before going to On Demand and Digital on March 17, 2020. Watch the trailer and let us know if it looks like something you’d want to check out.
