Taika Waititi Knows Baby Yoda's Actual Name in THE MANDALORIAN But He's Not Going To Reveal It
The end of the first season of The Mandalorian came and went and we still don’t know the name of The Child in the series. The Internet refers to the character as Baby Yoda, but we know that The Child’s name isn’t Yoda. The kid does have a name, but it most likely won’t be revealed until Season 2.
The Mandalorian director and actor Taika Waititi reveals that he knows the name of the kid, but he’s not going to be the one to reveal it! He’s going to wait for Jon Favreau to drop the news.
It’s interesting that they are treating this as a big secret. You’d think that it wouldn’t really mean anything, but maybe there’s something here that’s more than meets the eye. It would be interesting if when the name of The Child is dropped it ended up being something we all recognize that we weren’t expecting. Or, maybe they are just waiting for the right moment in the story to reveal the name and it’s not going to be that big of a deal.
Is Baby Yoda related to Yoda? Is he a clone of Yoda? Favreau has had to fend off speculation, and when it was brought up in an interview with USA Today, he said, “well, now you're getting into spoilers. I can't say. But there are a lot of theories about that.”
We’ll eventually find out! In the mean time, what do you think the big reveal about The Child will be?
