Taika Waititi Stars in This Stop-Motion Animated Short Film SAVE RALPH about a Cosmetic Test Rabbit
Save Ralph is a stop-motion animated short film released by Humane Society International. It tells the sad story of Ralph, a cosmetic test rabbit for a cosmetic company. Ralph is voiced by Taika Waititi, and he is being interviewed for a documentary as he goes through his daily routine as a “tester” in a lab.
Ralph is trying to keep a positive attitude but he is completely breaking down mentally, emotionally, and physically. The #SaveRalph campaign “tackles the cruelty of animal testing in an original and unexpected way—using the story of one bunny to shine a light on the plight of countless rabbits and other animals in laboratories around the world.”
The director of the short, Spencer Susser, explains that the miseries Ralph “endures in the short film are far from made up,” and says, “It's so important that Ralph feels real because he represents countless real animals who suffer every day.”
The powerful short film also features the voices of Ricky Gervais, Zac Efron, Olivia Munn, Pom Klementieff, Rodrigo Santoro, Tricia Helfer and more.
