I typically don't post announcements of collector's editions, but in this case I made an exception, only for an opportunity to talk about the latest Tales game. You might have missed the news, but the Tales series will be making its next generation debut on PS4 alongside its PS3 cousin on October 16th. It will debut on PC on the 20th.
The Tales franchise could possibly be called a favorite of mine, and you'd be correct. "Ecstatic" would be the word to describe my reaction to the announcement that the series is finally making the jump to next-gen consoles, and this entry looks just as epic and lively as the last few installments. You can peep the trailer below for a glimpse of what's in store, but just a side-note: the footage is specifically from the PS3 version at this time.
Hopefully soon they will show off some PS4 gameplay, but in the meantime you can put your pre-order in for the collector's edition of the game, which includes all the normal frick-a-frack you'd expect: artbook, steel case, and a soundtrack. It also comes with a pack of DLC, which for the Tales games is typically extra costumes and accessories. Along with that, the Dawn of the Shepard Anime (Blu-ray) is included, plus you get some retro key chains and a set of Chibi Kyun Chara figures of the main cast. The $129.99 price tag is pretty steep, but there are more things to like here than the normal collector set, so this might be a purchase for me. Regardless of the edition I end up getting, I can't wait to see more of it.
