Taylor Kitsch Set to Star in Dramatic Thriller WASH ME IN THE RIVER, Taking Machine Gun Kelly's Place

Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights, Waco) has joined the cast of Wash Me In the River, taking over the lead role for Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker, who had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. The film is being directed by longtime producer Randall Emmett, who just completed shooting on his first film, Midnight in the Switchgrass. Kitsch joins already cast Robert De Niro and John Malkovich in the film.

Machine Gun Kelly had already shot scenes for the film back in March, but when production shut down, he was forced to drop out, and many films have had to rearrange roles lately for the same reason.

Deadline reports the movie is “in the vein of No Country for Old Men.” The report adds that, “Kitsch will play a recovering addict who goes Man On Fire toward every drug dealer he thinks might have played a role in his fiance’s death. Two cops are hot on his trail.” The script was written by Adam Taylor Barker and Chris Sivertson, who did a rewrite.

This sounds like a good story, and I love Taylor Kitsch, so I’ll be happy to see him in the role. Wash Me In the River is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting early next month in Georgia and Puerto Rico.
