Taylor Sheridan's FRISCO KING Adds Gen V Star Asa Germann to Samuel L. Jackson's TULSA KING Spinoff

The world of Taylor Sheridan’s growing crime saga is expanding again, and the next chapter is starting to take shape. Paramount+’s Frisco King, a spinoff of Tulsa King, is gearing up for production and has added a rising star to its cast.

Samuel L. Jackson is leading the series, and now Gen V breakout Asa Germann has signed on to join him.

The new show begins filming later this month in Fort Worth, Texas, and it continues to build out the gritty universe Sheridan created with Tulsa King. With Jackson already set to headline the series, Germann’s addition gives the project another young talent stepping into the franchise.

Jackson plays Russell Lee Washington Jr., a character first introduced during the third season of Tulsa King last fall. The spinoff follows that character as he branches out into his own story within Sheridan’s crime-driven TV world.

Germann will play Teddy, described as “a sharp, savvy, entrepreneurial college dropout who gets Lee’s attention.” The dynamic between Jackson’s seasoned crime figure and Germann’s ambitious young hustler could become one of the central relationships in the series.

Germann has been steadily building momentum in Hollywood. He appeared in Gen V, the Amazon Prime Video spinoff of The Boys, and his growing résumé also includes roles in Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Paramount’s Scream 7, and the project Gargoyle 2.

There’s also been a key creative shift behind Frisco King. Paramount+ recently revealed that Taylor Sheridan will personally write every episode of the first season. The series was originally being developed under the title NOLA King, but the project has since evolved into Frisco King as production moves forward.

Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios are producing the show. Sheridan serves as executive producer along with Tulsa King star Sylvester Stallone and Jackson.

Paramount Television Studios president Matt Thunell shared his enthusiasm about Sheridan steering the entire season.

“We are honored to have Taylor Sheridan write the first season of ‘Frisco King’ and bring to life Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic character. Having him pen all episodes of the season with his singular voice will be a treat for fans of ‘Tulsa King’ and audiences around the world.”

Frisco King is shaping up to be another interesting entry in Sheridan’s expanding TV empire.
