Taylor Sheridan's HELL OR HIGH WATER Film Is Getting a Series Adaptation at Fox
The 2016 film Hell or High Water is getting a series adaptation at Fox. The original film comes from writer Taylor Sheridan and director David Mackenzie, and it stars Ben Foster, Chris Prine, Jeff Bridges, and Gil Birmingham. It’s a great film and if you haven’t seen it yet, you should!
The new series centers on a ruthless oil tycoon who attempts “to plunder a West Texas ranching community, two local brothers dodge a zealous Texas Ranger and fight to keep what’s theirs, one bank robbery at a time, come hell or high water.”
Hell or High Water is being written and executive produced by Jessica Mecklenburg (Dopesick, Stranger Things). The original film’s producers are also on board and they include Gigi Pritzker, Rachel Shan, Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, and Julie Yorn.
Taylor Sheridan is big business right now, especially with the epic success of shows such as Yellowstone and 1883. Unfortunately for Fox, Sheridan isn’t involved with the series. None of the actors of the original film or the director are involved with the series either.
