Taylor Swift Has Released Her Jessie-Inspired TOY STORY 5 Song - “I Knew It, I Knew You"

Taylor Swift has officially unveiled the song she created for Toy Story 5, giving fans their first chance to hear the track inspired by one of Pixar’s most beloved characters, Jessie.

The new song, titled “I Knew It, I Knew You,” has been released through Walt Disney Records and is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other major music platforms.

Swift first revealed the project earlier this week, generating plenty of excitement among both Disney and music fans. Now the track has arrived, offering a new musical chapter for the long-running Toy Story franchise.

To celebrate the release, Swift shared a nostalgic video on Instagram that showed her as a young girl dressed in a cowgirl outfit, stomping around and embracing the kind of adventurous spirit that feels perfectly suited to Jessie.

The singer opened up about the experience of writing the song, explaining how the project connected with both her creative instincts and her childhood love of the franchise:

“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once,” she said of her experience creating the single. “And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”

Swift also expressed her appreciation for Andrew Stanton, who directed Toy Story 5, for bringing her into the project during the screenplay development process. She went on to praise legendary composer Randy Newman, whose music has helped define the emotional heart of the Toy Story series since the beginning.

“You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it,” she continued.

The song was co-written with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, and Swift explained just how much affection they poured into the project:

“By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff. We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods. “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now.”

Fans who want to add a physical copy to their collection will have a few options when the film arrives in theaters on June 19. Three CD editions of the single will be released that same day, featuring the version heard in the movie, a special acoustic version, and a special piano version.

Collectors will also be able to pick up two themed 10-inch vinyl releases. One design is inspired by Jessie’s iconic red hat, while the other takes its cues from her sheriff’s badge.

Toy Story 5 is shaping up to offer fans another emotional ride when it hits theaters.
