Teaser Trailer For Alan Moore's Fever Dream Gothic Fantasy Film Titled THE SHOW
The first teaser trailer has been released for a crazy looking new film from legendary comic book writer Alan Moore titled The Show. This movie looks like a wild and strange fever dream gothic fantasy film. Morre is the writer behind comics such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Swamp Thing, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and more.
The movie was directed by Mitch Jenkins (Show Pieces) and I’m intrigued by the concept. I’m curious to see how the story plays out. It’s also interesting that Moore has helped make the movie. He’s known for distancing himself from the movies that are based on his work. He’s also been vocally angry with Hollywood over the years. This is his very first original feature film screenplay that will be produced and I guess he trusts everyone involved.
The movie stars Tom Burke, Siobhan Hewlett, Alan Moore (yes), Ellie Bamber, Darrell D'Silva, Richard Dillane, Christopher Fairbank, and Sheila Atim. Here’s the synopsis:
A frighteningly focussed man of many talents, passports and identities arrives at England's broken heart, a haunted midlands town that has collapsed to a black hole of dreams, only to find that this new territory is as at least as strange and dangerous as he is. Attempting to locate a certain person and a certain artifact for his insistent client, he finds himself sinking in a quicksand twilight world of dead Lotharios, comatose sleeping beauties, Voodoo gangsters, masked adventurers, unlikely 1930s private eyes, violent chiaroscuro women… and this is Northampton when it's still awake. Once the town closes its eyes there is another world entirely going on beneath the twitching lids, a world of glittering and sinister delirium much worse than any social or economic devastation. Welcome to the British nightmare, with its gorgeous flesh, its tinsel and its luminous light-entertainment monsters; its hallucinatory austerity.
There’s no release date for the film, but it’s set to premiere at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain this fall.
