Teaser Trailer For Amazon's A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN Series
Amazon’s Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of A League of Their Own. This series is said to be “a fresh approach” to director Penny Marshall’s classic film about the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It will tell the stories of brand new characters “who embody the spirit of a generation of women who dreamed to play professional baseball.” The official synopsis reads:
A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall's beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it.
I’m a fan of Marshall’s original film as it was just so wonderfully entertaining. I hope that this series manages to capture that same kind of magic.
The series also stars creator Abbi Jacobson along with Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Kelly McCormack, Roberta Colindrez, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant, Nick Offerman, and Melanie Field.
Amazon debuts A League of Their Own series on Prime Video starting August 12th, 2022.
