Teaser Trailer for BARRY Season 4, Which Is Confirmed to Be Its Last Season

I’ve got some bummer news to share for HBO’s dark hitman comedy series Barry, as it’s been confirmed that the upcoming fourth season will be its last. But, I’ve also got some good news… the first teaser trailer has been released! It sees Barry behind bars working through his issues.

I know Barry coming to an end should come as no surprise as in recent interviews actors Anthony Corrigan and Henry Winkler have been alluding to the fact that Season 4 would be the last.

Bill Hader said in a statement: “It’s been an amazing journey making this show, and it’s bittersweet that the story has come to its natural conclusion.”

Amy Gravitt, HBO/HBO Max Executive VP Comedy added: “After three masterful seasons of Barry, we are eager for viewers to see the powerful, complex and hilarious conclusion to Barry Berkman’s story. It has been a pleasure working with this immensely talented team including Bill Hader, Alec Berg, Aida Rodgers and the entire exceptional cast and crew.”

This is such a great show, which follows Barry (Hader), a low-level hitman who’s disillusioned at the thought of taking down another "mark.” Depressed, he is looking for a way out. “When the Midwesterner reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an actor who is bedding a mobster's wife, little does Barry know that the City of Angels may be his sanctuary. He follows his target into acting class and ends up instantly drawn to the community of eager hopefuls, especially dedicated student Sally, who becomes the object of his affection. While Barry wants to start a new life as an actor, his handler, Fuches, has other ideas, and the hit man's criminal past won't let him walk away so easily.”

In Season 3, “desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play.”

It’s sad to learn that Barry will be coming to an end, but at least the creative team got to tell a great story! It will be interesting to see how things end up for him. I imagine that it won’t work out the best. I’m not convinced that Barry is going to find his happy ending, but we’ll see.

Season 4 is set to premiere on April 16th and will consist of eight episodes. Watch the teaser below and tell us what you think!
