Teaser Trailer For Cate Blanchett and Alfonso Cuarón's Psychological Thriller Series DISCLAIMER*
Apple TV has released the first teaser trailer for Disclaimer, which stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The series is a gripping psychological thriller that will be told in seven chapters.
In the series, “Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets.
“As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).”
The series is based on the novel written by Renée Knight and it was created and directed by Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Gravity, and Roma).
The trailer for this thing looks pretty bleak, but I’m sure it’ll end up being a good show. Cuarón is a talented storyteller. The series also starsLesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, Hoyeon, and Indira Varma as narrator.
The series will premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival and Apple will release it on October 11th, 2024.
