Teaser Trailer for Disney's Anime Series TWISTED-WONDERLAND Reimagines Classic Disney Villains

Disney+ has released the first teaser trailer for Twisted-Wonderland, and it looks as wild, stylish, and villain-forward as fans hoped it would be.

Based on the hit Japanese mobile game Disney: Twisted-Wonderland, the anime series pulls Disney villains into an all-new genre with a magical boarding school drama.

The show kicks off with Yuuken, the central protagonist from the mobile game and manga, mysteriously invited to attend Night Raven College, which is a dark magic academy where seven dorms are each inspired by a classic Disney villain.

Think Hogwarts, but with houses themed after Maleficent, Scar, Ursula, Hades, Jafar, the Queen of Hearts, and the Evil Queen.

This teaser gives us a quick taste of what’s to come, including a montage of stylized visuals, character reveals, and the game’s original theme song. The anime is produced by Yumeta Company and Graphinica, with Takahiro Natori (Tokyo Mew Mew New) as chief director and Shin Katagai (The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Became Invincible) directing.

The first season of Twisted-Wonderland will adapt the “Book of Heartslabyul” arc, and the show has already been greenlit for three full seasons on Disney+.

Twisted-Wonderland arrives on Disney+ this October.
