Teaser Trailer For Disney+'s Fantasy Adventure Series PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS
Disney+ has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Rick Riordan’s fantasy adventure books Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The trailer premiered at D23 Expo and was presented by three stars of the series, which include Walter Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries.
This is our first real look at the series and it actually looks like it could be a decent show. I like what I’m seeing in the teaser and I’m looking forward to seeing more. This looks like it could be a better adaptation than the films that were made. The creative team can definitely have more fun digging into the characters and story with a series like this.
The series tells the fantastical tale of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod (Scobell), “who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.”
The rest of the cast includes Those cast members include Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, and Timm Sharp.
Riordan and Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot, and James Bobin directs. Steinberg will oversee the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to hit Disney+ in 2024.
