Teaser Trailer For DOCTOR WHO 60th Anniversary Special Featuring The Return of David Tennant
BCC has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special, which features the return of David Tennant as the fourteenth Doctor! This trailer gives us our best look yet at his surprising comeback!
Tennant will be joined by Catherine Tate, who played Donna during the run of the Tenth Doctor. They will be joined by Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King, and Karl Collins.
The 60th anniversary special will include three episodes, which are set to air in November 2023. BBC previously teased: “David Tennant, previously known as the 10th Doctor, is now also known as the 14th Doctor. Confused? Don’t worry, he seems a little perplexed too.”
Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies said: “If you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we’ve got plenty more surprises on the way. The path to Ncuti’s 15th Doctor is laden with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun. And how is it connected to the return of the wonderful Donna Noble? How, what, why? We’re giving you a year to speculate, and then all hell lets loose.”
Tennant previously talked about jumping back into the role again, saying he was “worried it would be difficult to get in the groove again but it has been straightforward. We’ve managed to keep the essence of the show and the world now has a very exciting moment to look forward to. Doctor Who was a wonderful time in my life and it runs through me like a stick of rock so to be part of that show, go on that journey and return to it when I thought it was a memory has been an absolute present.”
After that three-episode run, the next version of the Doctor will be played by Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa. Enjoy the trailer!
