Teaser Trailer for FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE
Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which is the third of five planned films in the Harry Potter spin-off series. This was released to announce that a full trailer is coming next week on Monday!
This teaser offers a retrospective look at the Harry Potter franchise and twenty years of Harry Potter fandom.
That teaser concludes with about 20 seconds of footage from the new film, which includes a first look at Mads Mikkelsen taking over the role of the franchise villain Gellert Grindelwald, who was previously played by Johnny Depp. It also includes brief glimpses of other characters like Jude Law as Dumbledore.
It was previously reported that this sequel would put the spotlight on Albus Dumbledore and set more action at Hogwarts. The third movie will also show how magic is explored in an entirely new location: Rio de Janeiro.
The studio hired J.K. Rowling’s frequent collaborator Steve Kloves to co-write the script. He wrote seven of the eight Harry Potter movies. The studio brought him on board on hopes that “his inherent understanding of the world will help Rowling better service the fans for part three.”
Harry Potter veteran David Yates is returning to helm the new movie. Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander and he’s joined Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler. Jessica Williams, who briefly appeared as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks in The Crimes of Grindelwald, is expected to have a bigger role in the upcoming film.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in cinemas on April 15th 2022.
