Teaser Trailer for INSIDE GAME Follows True NBA Referee Gambling Scandal
We’ve got the first teaser for you to check out for the upcoming movie Inside Game, which follows the true events of an NBA referee, Tim Donaghy, who got into a gambling scheme wherein he bet on the games he officiated and made sure things worked out in his favor. Donaghy will be played by Eric Mabius (Resident Evil, Ugly Betty), with co-stars Scott Wolf, Will Sasso, Lindsey Morgan, and Michael O’Keefe.
Deadline reports the following synopsis for the story, which also kind of spoils the film. So if you don’t know the true story, and what happened to Donaghy, just skip ahead to the trailer.
Mabius plays Donaghy, who teamed with childhood buddies Tommy Martino (Wolf) and bookie Baba Battista (Sasso) in hatching a scheme to make millions by betting on NBA games Donaghy refereed. The FBI eventually foiled the plot, and all were convicted. Donaghy, a veteran ref, pleaded guilty in 2018 to two federal charges and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Inside Game opens in theaters on November 1st. Check out the trailer, and let us know if you’re interested in seeing this movie.
