Sony Pictures has shared the first brief teaser trailer for director Paul WS Anderson’s film adaptation of the video game franchise Monster Hunter. This is the first footage that has been released for the film, and it looks pretty cool!

The footage features the film’s star Milla Jovovich with a small group of soldiers who find themselves facing off with a crazy-looking giant monster.

Jovovich plays a character named Artemis in the film, and she is transported to another realm populated by monsters. She meets Hunter in this world, who is played by Tony Jaa. The two end up teaming up to fight to close a portal to prevent monsters from invading earth. Here’s the synopsis:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

A few months ago it was announced that the release date of the film was pushed from September of this year to April 2021. But, the release date has now been moved back into 2020 and will now be released in theaters in December 2020! Check out the teaser!
