Teaser Trailer for Netflix's New Anime Series SAKAMOTO DAYS About an Ex-Hitman That Runs a Convenience Store

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for a new original anime series titled Sakamoto Days, which follows a legendary ex-hitman Taro Sakamoto as he bands with comrades to face off against the looming thread of assassins to ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family.

The series is an adaptation of the anime and manga, which was written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It tells the story of the ultimate assassin, who is “feared by villains and admired by other hit men.

“One day he falls in love and out of shape, preoccupied with marriage, retirement, and fatherhood. But he’s still armed with superhuman skill and strength, and during extreme situations he loses his extra weight and gains twice the power he had before.”

When Sakamoto meets Aoi, the convenience store clerk, “it’s love at first sight — and just like that, he retires.

“Sakamoto gets married, has a daughter, opens a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town, and completely transforms … into a plus-size man.

“To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary ex–hit man bands together with comrades to face off against the looming threat of assassins.”

Suzuki said in a statement: “I want to express my gratitude to the fans, whose support made all of this possible. I hope you will continue to join me in building up SAKAMOTO DAYS! Please enjoy the show!”

The Netflix anime Sakamoto Days is set to premiere in January 2025. It looks like fun!
