Teaser Trailer for Netflix’s PRIDE AND PREJUDICE Reveals Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy

Netflix has shared the first teaser for Pride and Prejudice, and it gives us our first look at Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy.

If you’ve been curious about how this new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic romance would look and feel, the early footage offers a pretty solid tease.

The six-episode Netflix series, adapted by Everything I Know About Love author Dolly Alderton, is set to premiere this fall. According to a press release, the show aims to “faithfully bring Jane Austen’s iconic story back to life for audiences that cherish it, whilst inspiring a new generation to fall in love with it for the first time.”

The footage we see in the teaser leans into sweeping, cinematic visuals. Corrin’s Elizabeth is seen perched on a rooftop at sunset, taking in the world around her. There’s a spark of anticipation in the air when she hears galloping hooves, followed by Lowden’s Darcy riding into frame on horseback. It’s romantic, restrained, and loaded with tension in just a few seconds of screen time.

The series is directed by Euros Lyn, best known for helming episodes of Heartstopper. Lyn is working with a stacked ensemble cast that includes Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourg, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet, and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.

Alderton previously shared her excitement about stepping into Austen’s world, saying, “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it.

“Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.

“With Euros Lyn directing our stellar cast, I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count Pride and Prejudice as their favorite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr. Darcy.”

Pride and Prejudice has been reimagined many times for film and television, but each generation seems to find its own version of Elizabeth and Darcy. Corrin and Lowden stepping into those roles is sure to win fans over.

If the teaser is any indication, this version of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy is going to bring plenty of heart, tension, and maybe a little swoon-worthy horseback drama to your fall watchlist.
