Teaser Trailer for Rachel Weisz's Series Adaptation of David Cronenberg's DEAD RINGERS
Amazon Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Prime Video’s series adaptation of David Cronenberg’s 1988 psychological thriller, Dead Ringers. The series stars Rachel Weisz who takes on the dual roles of twins Elliot and Beverly Mantle.
The trailer isn’t very long, but there seems to be a lot of excitement about this show, and I’m sure those that are looking forward to watching it will be interested in seeing the first footage of Weisz as these two characters. While the story is interesting, Weisz’s involvement is definitely a main selling point of the series.
The twins share everything: “Drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes — including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics — in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women's health care to the forefront.”
The series' ensemble cast includes Britne Oldford (The Umbrella Academy, American Horror Story: Asylum) as Genevieve, Poppy Liu (Hacks, iCarly) as Greta, Michael Chernus (Severance, Orange is the New Black) as Tom, Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty, Saint Maud) as Rebecca, and Emily Meade (The Deuce, The Leftovers) as Susan.
The directors on the show include Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Nest, The Iron Claw), Karyn Kusama (Jennifer's Body, Girlfight), Karena Evans (P-Valley, Snowfall), and Lauren Wolkstein (A Friend of the Family, Y: The Last Man).
Dead Ringers premieres on Prime Video on April 21st.
