Teaser Trailer for RETURN TO SILENT HILL From the Director of the Original SILENT HILL Movie

I’ve got some exciting news for all of you Silent Hill fans out there! A new film was recently announced! It’s titled Return to Silent Hill, and it’s being helmed by Cristophe Gans, For those of you who don’t know, Gans is the director of the original 2006 Silent Hill!

This is great news! That original film was incredible and is easily one of the best video game film adaptations that have been made. A video has been released featuring a discussion from Gans and producer Victor Hadida talking about the film, along with some concept art.

The new film will be based on the story of Silent Hill 2, and it’s said to be more of a psychological horror story. Hadida shared that the plan is to "make it modern, but also very true to the video game," and it will include familiar monsters, including the nightmarish Pyramid Head, but it will have an updated design for the film.

Gans talked about the story saying: "The film tells the story of a young guy coming back to Silent Hill, where he has known a great love and what he's going to find is a pure nightmare."

Hadida added: "In the first Silent Hill, we were exploring a world, the world of this small town, completely closing into the mist. It was like being trapped in a twilight zone, but in the second game, the creators of the game have changed the rules."

The story is going to be told from the point of view of the character James Sunderland. He comes to the town after he received a letter from his wife Mary. Now, here’s where things get all silent hilly, Mary died three years earlier. "At its core, it's also the idea of the myth of Orpheus, and whether a man can go deep in Hell to bring back the soul or the person he loved the most in his life.”

I love the Silent Hill franchise and I’m a huge fan of the original movie, so I’m pretty pumped up about this next film!
