Teaser Trailer For The Animated Series GEN:LOCK Shows Some Mecha Action

Rooster Teeth has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming western anime series gen:LOCK and it offers a bit of Mecha action. This is just a little taste of what the show has to offer, but it looks promising.

The series stars Michael B. JordanDakota Fanning, Koichi Yamadera, and David Tennant, who you get to hear in the trailer.

Jordan will take on the role of a character named Julian Chase and this is the plot summary that was shared:

Earth’s last free society is on the losing side of a global war, and recruits a diverse team of young pilots to control the next generation of mecha—giant, weaponized robot bodies. These daring recruits will find, however, that their newfound abilities come at no small cost. As Chase leaves behind his life as a fighter pilot to become the first candidate for the program, he finds his endurance, as well as his very identity, will be tested beyond anything he ever imagined.

Tennant will play Dr. Rufus Weller aka Doc, "a lead scientist with the Experimental Science Unit (ESU) and the inventor of the gen:LOCK technology." Fanning will provide the voice of Miranda Worth, an expert mech pilot and Chase’s love interest. Yamadera will voice Kazu Iida, one of the new recruits transferring from Japan’s military forces to fight alongside Chase in the gen:LOCK program.

The series will be released in January of 2019.
