Teaser Trailer For the Comedic and Charming Film THE INCREDIBLE JESSICA JAMES

At Sundance this year, there were a lot of hits that really left an impression on me. The Incredible Jessica James was good. It wasn't my favorite at Sundance, but it was by no means bad. It just felt very much like an independent film. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired and then I went on with my day.

It will be debuting on Netflix, which means if you have Netflix, you should check it out. It is good, and you aren't paying anything for it other than your regular Netflix subscription. The teaser trailer below has a good feel for it, but it is definitely more than that. Chris O'Dowd and Jessica Williams (The Daily Show) are phenomenal in it. I just love Chris O'Dowd.

The film was written and directed by Jim Strouse, and the story follows "a young, aspiring playwright in New York City who’s recovering from a recent breakup. After a date with a divorcee named Boone (Chris O’Dowd) Williams learns how to navigate the 'social media obsessed post-relationship universe'."

This is what I said in my review:

The film seems to be trying to say that the reason why you write or do anything is for the love of it and the love of theater. But then you also see certain themes about finding love, and moving on, and finding your voice. These are all great messages and ideas to share, but when you put so many in a movie and want them all to be given the same importance, it weakens the theme you want to deliver the most.

The movie will be released on Netflix on July 28th.
