Teaser Trailer for Season 2 of Amazon's Series HOMECOMING From MR. ROBOT Director Sam Esmail

We finally have our long-awaited first look at season two of the series Homecoming. The series was created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, and the first season was based on the podcast of the same name. The first season of the series was directed by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), and starred Julia Roberts, Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James, Shea Whigham, Alex Karpovsky, and Sissy Spacek. The story in the first season is described as follows:

Heidi Bergman had been a social worker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a live-in facility run by the Geist Group; the facility ostensibly helped soldiers transition to civilian life, though why they needed this help is unclear. Four years later, Bergman has started a new life working as a waitress but has difficulty remembering her time at Homecoming. After a U.S. Department of Defense auditor inquires as to why she left Homecoming, Bergman comes to realize that she had been misled about the true purpose of the facility.

And while this isn’t exactly an anthology series, as it takes place within the same story, it will cover new ground with new characters. Here’s the rundown for the new season:

Homecoming returns for its second season with a fresh new mystery and an exciting new star, Janelle Monáe.  Her character wakes in a rowboat adrift a lake, with no memory of how she got there — or even who she is. Her ensuing search for identity will lead her into the heart of the Geist Group, the unconventional wellness company behind the Homecoming Initiative.

The second season finds Stephan James reprising his role as Walter Cruz, who is trying to build a new life following the traumas of war and the Homecoming Initiative, when he begins to realize that there’s an even more insidious version of the program underway – if only he can remember. Hong Chau returns as Audrey Temple, an anonymous underling at Geist who finds herself thrust into unexpected positions at the top of the corporate ladder. Joining the cast for season Two are Oscar-winner Chris Cooper as Leonard Geist, the company’s eccentric founder; and Emmy-winner Joan Cusack as Francine Bunda, an equally eccentric military woman.

I am so excited for this next chapter! The first season was so riveting and well done. I can’t wait to dive back into this world with these new and old characters. Check out the trailer below, and start watching season two of Homecoming on Amazon Prime on May 22, 2020. Are you excited?
