Ted Danson Will Star in a New Comedy Series for NBC from Tina Fey
Ted Danson and Tina Fey are two of my favorite TV stars. I love the comedy work that they have done on TV! Cheers and 30 Rock are both funny as hell. Well, NBC is bringing these two talents together for a new comedy, and I couldn’t be more excited for it!
In the series, Danson will star as a “wealthy businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles for all the wrong reasons. Once Danson’s character wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his staff, and connect with his teenage daughter, all while controlling the coyote population.”
Fey will write and produce the series alongside Robert Carlock. The series has already received a 13-episode first season order. Fey and Carlock had this to say in a joint statement:
“We are thrilled to be back home at NBC and writing for one of the network’s greatest stars of all time, Mary Steenburgen’s husband, Ted.”
NBC co-chairmen George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy added:
“We are so excited that this is the first NBC show we get to greenlight straight-to-series. It’s with talent that we know and love and who have worked on some of the most beloved shows in our network’s history. We can’t wait.”
It’ll be fun to see how this series turns out! With this talent on board to bring it to life, I’m sure it’ll be funny! What do you think about Danson and Fey teaming up for a new comedy series?
