TED LASSO Season 3 First Look and Co-Creators Say That Season 3 Is "F***ing Awesome" and They "Love It"
Fans have been waiting a year and a half just to hear word about the third season of Apple’s hit series Ted Lasso. Season 2 as well as the upcoming season were announced way back in the fall of 2020, after the first season premiered and the streamer knew it had a hit. But after several reported roadblocks, we are finally closing in on Season 3!
According to the show’s co-creator Bill Lawrence, and writer and star of the series Brett Goldstein, the new episodes are as great as the first two batches. The pair were at the Winter 2023 TCA panel for Ted Lasso Season 3, and Bill Lawrence told reporters about the Season 3 footage he's seen, calling it "f**king awesome," with Goldstein adding, "I love it."
Lawrence also credited his co-creator, series star/producer/writer Jason Sudeikis, with the success of this season, stating:
"Jason Sudeikis ran Ted Lasso this year and crushed it. Brett had to stay there and act and be a writer on that show. I got to — because that production was up and running, because of all the support from Apple — come here and move back to my family and home and do Shrinking."
Lawrence and Goldstein are working together on a new Apple TV+ series titled Shrinking, which demanded a lot of Lawrence's time and attention. Jason Sudeikis slid into the showrunner position for Ted Lasso Season 3, which proved to be the most complicated amid the show’s future uncertainty, Covid protocols, re-writes, and the personal problems Sudeikis was going through.
I have all the faith that despite those issues, we will get a stellar third season though. Ted Lasso is top-tier TV, and I hope the show continues to go on after Season 3.
Ted Lasso will premiere on Apple TV+ this spring! Catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 while you wait.
