TED Ed Video Explores Why You Feel Stuck and How To Motivate Yourself To Get Out of It
There are times in life where I feel like I get stuck and for one reason or another it’s hard to move forward, especially in a lot of the projects I’m involved with.
Here’s a video in TEDEd for you to watch that explores why we feel stuck at times and how to get motivated to get out of the rut.
Motivation always peaks at the beginning and end of projects, but the middle can feel like crap. Psychologists call this the “stuck in the middle” effect, where progress feels slow and discouraging.
The description of the video reads: Dig into the psychology of how to overcome your motivational obstacles and regain focus when you feel stuck in achieving your goals. -- Many of us have experienced feeling stuck.
“People often report feeling highly motivated at the start and end of a project, but the middle can feel untethered. It can happen when tackling something as simple as a term paper or as monumental as social inequality or the climate crisis.
“So, are there ways to get unstuck? Shannon Odell digs into the psychology of overcoming your motivational obstacles.”
