Teen Girls From 1988 Find Themselves Transported To 2019 in Teaser Trailer For PAPER GIRLS

Amazon has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming sci-fi series Paper Girls, which is a series adaptation of the Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang comic book series. This looks like a pretty cool series, the story of which centers on four teen girls from 1988 who end up traveling through time to the year 2019, where they come face to face with their future selves.

The synopsis reads: “It's the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.”

I haven’t read the comic book, but I’ve heard from those who have read it that it’s great and that it should make for an awesome series. I like what I’m seeing so far from this trailer and I’m looking forward to watching it.

The series stars Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza, with Ali Wong and Nate Corddry.

The Paper Girls series was created by Stephany Folsom (writer on Toy Story 4, Star Wars Resistance, LOTR: The Rings of Power), and Amazon will release the series on Prime Video starting on July 29th, 2022.
