TeeTurtle Releases New Ooze-Covered TMNT Plushies
A couple of years ago, TeeTurtle released reversible plushies for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were adorable (and are currently on sale)! Now, the team has released potentially cuter reversible plushies for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
The new plushies highlight the well-known origin story of four baby turtles being exposed to ooze which then mutated them into the fierce ninja warriors (given training by their adoptive rat father) that so many revere.
On one side of the plush, collectors will see adorable versions of the ninja turtles (Michelangelo is definitely the cutest with the closed eyes).
However, when you flip it inside out, each turtle will revert to their non-mutated form albeit with some ooze on their shell. I’m not sure if Michelangelo or Donatello is the sadder turtle here, but it’s still cute.
TeeTurtle was kind enough to send me a set of these plushies and my family has been loving them. They’re only 4” this time instead of 6” so they are considerably smaller, but they’re just as soft when in ninja mode.
The ooze is a fun touch, but I’m personally not a fan of the material. I am not super knowledgeable about textiles, but I don’t understand why the same soft material could not have been used for the ooze.
Instead, it’s a plastic-y, vinyl-esque material that is just stiffer and harder than the rest of the turtle. I get that they were likely using it for a visual and textile contrast, but I’m not a fan of the result.
A cute difference is that these smaller plushies do feature stubby feet and tails.
Don’t get me wrong. I still love these little guys and they have become a popular toy around the house as we play various games. You can purchase your favorite turtle through TeeTurtle’s website for $11.99 each or the whole group for $47.96 (on sale for $40.77). If you just need some little cute turtle guys, these really are fun.
