Ten Things You Need To Know About THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRM Anime Movie
Last week we got the exciting news that New Line Cinema was developing The Lord of the Rings: The War of The Rohirrim as an anime feature film.
It was explained that the story focuses on a character from the book’s appendix, “the mighty King of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand, and a legendary battle which helped shaped Middle-earth heading into LOTR.” And that the movie will expand the “untold story behind the fortress of Helm’s Deep, delving into the life and bloodsoaked times of Hammerhand. Overall, the movie is a companion piece to New Line’s LOTR trilogy and is set roughly 250 years before that movie during the third age.”
Well for those of you who aren’t really familiar with this story, I’ve got a video here for you to watch that was sent in by The Tolkien Road Podcast. The video offers up ten thing that you need to know about The War of The Rohirrm and maybe some of you will find it interesting and learn a few things.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045, Ultraman, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), and the animation work will be done by Sola Entertainment. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King scribe Philippa Boyens is working as a consultant on the new project.
Joseph Chou (Blade Runner: Black Lotus) will produce. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) are writing.
