Tense New Trailer For Jake Gyllenhaal’s Crime Thriller Series PRESUMED INNOCENT
Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming crime thriller series Presumed Innocent, which comes from producers David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow, and the story is about a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys' office when one of its own is suspected of the crime.
It looks like a very intense series and the trailer does a great job of building the tension as Gyllenhaal’s character constantly denies killing the woman he was having an affair with. But, the more things play out, the more guilty he looks.
The description reads: "This story brings to life our worst nightmare: that of an ordinary citizen facing conviction for the most terrible of all crimes."
The gripping series “takes viewers on a journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys' office when chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal) is suspected of the crime.
“The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.“
The story is also described as a “stunning portrayal of one man's all-too-human, all-consuming fatal attraction for a passionate woman who is not his wife, and the story of how his obsession puts everything he loves and values on trial--including his own life."
Gyllenhaal plays Rusty Sabich in the series and he’s joined by Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Nana Mensah, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, Kingston Rumi Southwick, as well as Elizabeth Marvel.
Presumed Innocent is an eight-part limited series that will debut on Apple TV+ on June 12th, 2024.
