Tense Trailer for Musical Crime Thriller EMILIA PÉREZ Featuring Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez
A new trailer has been released for the musical crime thriller Emilia Pérez. The film comes from Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, Rust & Bone, Dheepan, Sisters Brothers), who wrote the script in collaboration with Thomas Bidegain, Nicolas Livecchi, and Léa Mysius.
The film stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, Edgar Ramírez, and Mark Ivanir. It premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year where it won Jury Prize and Best Actress prizes, and viewers came away with great reviews.
The film’s synopsis reads: “Overqualified and overexploited, Rita (Zoe Saldana) uses her talents as a lawyer for a big firm in Mexico more interested in laundering criminals than serving justice.
“But an unexpected way out opens up for her, to help cartel boss Manitas retire from the business and carry out the plan he's been secretly preparing for years: to finally become the woman he's always dreamed of being.”
