"Terrible Financial Decision on My End": Switch 2 Die-Hard Moves Out, Flies 800 Miles to Camp at Unopened Nintendo Store
It’s official: the Switch 2 hype is melting people's brains.
Just a week after a YouTuber staked out a sidewalk spot outside Nintendo’s New York store, another hopeful fan has taken it to the next level, this time in San Francisco. The kicker? The store isn’t even open yet.
Enter Super Cafe, a YouTuber who decided to fly “over 800 miles” to the Bay Area just to be first in line for a console that doesn’t launch for another two months. Even more intense? He gave up his apartment to do it.
“I’ve only lived in my apartment two months, I just moved out, a terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares?”
There's something charmingly unhinged about that level of commitment, and Super Cafe is leaning in. Right now, he’s doing this solo, sleeping rough outside a store that doesn’t yet have an official open date, and he’s hoping others will join the cause.
It’s starting to look like a bicoastal Switch 2 pilgrimage is forming. Or maybe just a social experiment in long-term sidewalk endurance.
Of course, with U.S. pre-orders in limbo due to the uncertainty around Trump’s proposed tariffs, some fans are apparently deciding they’d rather squat now than miss out later.
It’s wild that people do this! It seems like a nightmare of a situation! Some people just enjoy raw-dogging life with no plan, but infinite vibes.
Nintendo will luanch the Switch 2 on June 5, and some fans are going all in! Life, money, and showers be damned.
