Terry Gilliam Explains The Process of The Amusing Cutout Animation Used in MONTY PYTHON on 1974 TV Show

In 1974, director Terry Gilliam appeared on Bob Godfrey’s Do-It-Yourself Film Animation Show to share and explain how he creates the amusing and entertaining cutout animations that are featured throughout the classic Monty Python films and episodes of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Gilliam goes through and talks about each step of his process while offering helpful tips to make the best animation possible. It’s actually pretty entertaining to watch. If you’re a fan of Monty Python, this is a must-watch!

Before he gets into the meat of the animation process he amusingly tells people not to get into animation because it’s dangerous, nasty stuff. Anyway, enjoy!
