Test Screenings for Marvel's THE NEW MUTANTS Have Been Getting Positive Feedback
Disney my not be feeling very impressed or confident with director Josh Boone’s upcoming Marvel movie The New Mutants, but test audiences are reportedly digging it.
The movie was made under Fox, and Disney ended up including it in their theatrical release schedule, which I’m happy about. I’ve been wanting to see this movie on the big screen, and I’ve heard from people that have seen it that it’s actually really good!
Here’s what the Editor-in-Chief of Discussing Film had to say on Twitter:
There’s been discussions of New Mutants test screenings going around today so I’ll add my two cents.

Heard it’s decent, seems this new cut adheres more to Josh Boone’s original vision for New Mutants of a scarier horror comic book movie.
He went on to say that the reshoots for the film never happened and that he doesn’t “think they’ll end up doing reshoots, at least not lengthy ones, likely some pickups before release.”
Then there’s a writer from Geeks WorldWide who offered his insight with the following:

So, it looks like there’s a chance that The New Mutants movie will actually be good! It may not fit in with the MCU, but it’s a Marvel horror movie revolving around mutants that I’ve been excited about seeing!
The cast for the film includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as fallen Mirage. Here’s the previously released synopsis:
Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.
The New Mutants is set to hit theaters on April 3, 2020.
