That CHILD'S PLAY Reboot That No One Wants Just Cast Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry

MGM is moving forward with that silly Child’s Play remake that no one really wants or cares about. However, that might change for some people with today’s casting news.

According to Collider, Aubrey Plaza (Legion) and Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) are in negotiations to star in reboot. These actors have a fan base that might be excited to see them in this movie. While I love their work, their casting in this reboot still doesn’t spark any excitement in the movie for me.

The contemporary reboot will follow a group of kids as they take on a technologically-advanced doll that enters their world. It’a also been reported that the version of Chucky in this film is "a defective 'Buddy doll' whose programming code was hacked so that he has no limitations to learning and also violence."

The original 1988 movie followed a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray who’s soul ends up being trapped inside the body of a Good Guy doll named Chucky and he continues his murder spree.

The movie will be directed by Lars Klevberg, who directed the upcoming horror movie Polaroid, which doesn’t look that good. As for the script, it was written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2). It producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith are producing.

This movie is completely separate from the upcoming TV series that is being developed by franchise creator Don Mancini, who will not be involved with the film reboot.

What do you think about Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry joining the film?
