THE ADDAMS FAMILY 2 Promo Spot, Poster Art, Release Date, and Bill Hader Joins The Cast
MGM has shared a brief promo spot and a couple of posters teasing The Addams Family 2. It was also revealed that the movie will be released on Halloween 2021.
I enjoyed the first movie a lot more than I thought I would, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this sequel delivers. It was also announced that Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, It: Chapter Two) and Javon “Wanna” Walton (Utopia) have joined the voice cast.
The Addams Family 2 will be directed by Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted) and Greg Tiernan (Thomas & Friends, Day of the Diesels), and the voice cast includes Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Annihilation) as Gomez Addams, Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde, Mad Max: Fury Road) as Morticia Addams, Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick Ass, If I Stay) as Wednesday Addams, Finn Wolfhard (It, Netflix’s Stranger Things) as Pugsley Addams, Nick Kroll (Big Mouth, Sing) as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler (Hocus Pocus, Beaches) as Grandma, Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade) as Parker, and Allison Janney (I, Tonya) as the family’s arch-nemesis Margaux Needler.
Tiernan said in a statement:
“The success of last year’s animated film was proof of the enduring legacy of The Addams Family and its ability to transcend popular culture. This second film will be every bit as fun as the original. We are thrilled to welcome Bill Hader and Javon Walton, and to welcome back our incredible original cast for this exciting next chapter in the Addams’s journey.”
Morticia, devilishly devoted to her husband and children, is the pale glue that holds her clan together. Gomez, debonair, sinister and passionately in love with his wife, is enthusiastic about whatever dreadful scheme he’s cooked up. Wednesday is a brilliant and sinister teenage girl with long braids and deadpan wit. Pugsley, a menacing 10-year-old on over-drive, enjoys getting into any kind of dreadful mischief he can find. Mad Uncle Fester is good-natured, merry and likes to create mayhem any way he can. Grandmama is smitten with her grandchildren who enjoy her cookies shaped like bats and skulls. Margaux Needler, the reality TV makeover queen, is consumed with a desire for absolute suburban, pastel perfection.
