The Amazing Comic-Style Characters of The Periodic Table

Floating around the internet since November of 2011 has been this amazingly unique take on the Periodic Table of Elements. As a part of her senior thesis at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, talented character artist Kaycie D. put together a detailed sketch of 72 of the known elements as characters that look like they've stepped straight off the pages of a comic book. She later filled out the table to encompass all 112 known elements. They are a lot of fun and she even offers printed flash cards at her Etsy store to help you study each one.

As somebody who generally has to build characters and stories around things in order to memorize them, this is right up my alley. I love the great blend of science and art. If you ask me, each of these characters feel like they need a story all their own. I've posted a handful of my favorites bellow, but for all 112 you can visit her Tumblr page!
