The Amusing Mistakes in The HARRY POTTER Reunion Special Have Been Fixed
As fans watched Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts over the weekend on HBO Max, many of them noticed some amusing mistakes that were made. One of those mistakes includes a photo of what was supposed to be Emma Watson as a young child, but the photo used in the special was actually a childhood photo of Emma Roberts. In it, she is sitting at a kitchen table wearing a set of Minnie Mouse ears. The photo was taken from Roberts’ own Instagram page.
Another mistake in the special was pointed out by Oliver Phelps, the actor who plays George Weasley in the Harry Potter films. Phelps posted a photo of a moment from the special on his Instagram page that shows him and his brother James Phelps, who plays Fred Weasley, speaking. The actor explained that the two on-screen titles labeling the brothers were swapped by sharing a simple double-sided arrow emoji. He said in a caption, "I guess after all those pranks over the years somebody decided to get their revenge. It was fantastic to be part of the HP reunion."
The producers of the Harry Potter special addressed the mistakes that were made in a statement to Entertainment Weekly, saying, "Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly."
HBO Max has now uploaded an updated version of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts that has both errors fixed.
It’s funny how some fans were completely outraged by the mistake, but mistakes happen! They can be fixed!
