The ARCANE Season Finale Was Originally Supposed to Be Longer but "Some Things" Were Cut
The co-creator of Netflix’s awesome League of Legends animated series Arcane, Christian Linke, has revealed that some content was cut from the finale of the show.
The initial cut of the Arcane finale was over an hour long. Linke explained to Dexerto: “The first version came back from [animation studio] Fortiche and they’re like, ‘Guys, it’s over an hour long. We can’t do this.’ And we were like, ‘Yeah, okay.’ So we kind of chiseled away from that point.”
Not sure why they couldn’t do that, but when GamesRadar+ asked him about what exactly was left on the cutting room floor, he said:
"How much do I want to play into the narrative that is going on? [With] some people unhappy about it being rushed, this will only fuel the fire. I mean, there were some things, but it was mostly action that was brought back.”
Regardless of the cuts, I think that Arcane did a great job of sticking the landing. But, as a fan of the show, the more of the story we get… the better!
In the series, sisters Jinx (Ella Purnell) and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) find themselves caught on opposing sides of a conflict in the utopian city of Piltover and its poor underbelly, Zaun.
In the cities of Piltover and Zaun, “tensions rise as inventors, hooligans, politicians, and crime lords grow increasingly dissatisfied with the constraints of a devastated society.
“With the situation on the verge of being unsustainable, two sisters steal an artifact of immeasurable power. Discovery and danger collide as heroes are born and bonds are broken. Will this power change the world? Or will it lead to ruin? This is the world of Arcane.
"Amidst the escalating unrest between the rich, utopian city of Piltover and its seedy, oppressed underbelly of Zaun, sisters Vi and Jinx find themselves on opposing sides of a brewing conflict over clashing convictions and arcane technologies."
I can’t wait to see what project is coming next!
