The Art You'll See in Netflix's THE CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA Comes From HELLRAISER's Clive Barker

If horror fans need another reason to be excited about the upcoming Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina we’ve got some cool news to share with you. The series was already said to feature nods to horror films like The Exorcist, Suspiria, Hellraiser and more. But we’ve now learned that horror movie master Clive Barker has contributed over 150 paintings that will hang on the walls of Greendale’s bewitching academy in the series.

Production designer Lisa Soper talked to io9 about how this came to be explaining that she talked with Barker about her plans for the set design, and he asked her to look through his art and pick what she wanted:

“We spoke about kind of the idea and the themes behind what we were doing here and he said, ‘Why don’t you come down, spend the weekend, take a look through all the artwork and pick out what you want?’”

For those of you who don’t know, Clive Barker is also an acclaimed artist whose work has been shown in art galleries all across the country. Now some of that art will be immortalized in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series.

It’s said that the show has a collection of 150 pieces of Barker’s works. Now Soper is trying to get Barker to visit the set and shoot a cameo as a teacher in the academy.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will haunt audiences on October 26th.
