The Asylum Drops Silly Trailer for Sci-Fi Spoof PREDATOR: WASTELANDS
The Asylum is back at it again with another gloriously dumb over-the-top F-movie, and this time they’re taking aim at Predator: Badlands. The studio has just released the official trailer for their latest mockbuster, Predator: Wastelands.
If you’ve seen any of The Asylum’s previous “mockbuster” creations, you already know what kind of stupid ride this is going to be.
The story follows an alien hunter who crash-lands on Earth and starts wiping out a gang of warlords, only to become an unlikely folk hero among the oppressed locals. With their help, this intergalactic hunter sets its sights on the gang’s ruthless leader. It’s a ridiculous setup, but that’s exactly what makes it so entertaining.
The film stars David Chokachi, Johnny Ramey, Amulya Ananth, Vanessa Zanardi, L.A. Williams, and West Wayne, all diving headfirst into the madness. It’s written and directed by Ryan Ebert, a familiar name in The Asylum world who recently helmed The Jolly Monkey earlier this year.
The Asylum’s Predator: Wastelands is a direct-to-VOD sci-fi action spoof that embraces every cheesy, low-budget trick in the book, and it’s proud of it. It looks so bad, but some people embrace these films a a true celebration of campy filmmaking.
The movie is set to hit VOD on November 4th, 2025, just days before the real movie arrives in theaters.
