THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB Has Found Its Young Stars for the Netflix Series Adaptation

The upcoming Netflix series adaptation of the popular book series The Baby-Sitters Club has found its stars to bring the characters to life. The book series “follows a group of middle-school friends who start their own babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut.”

The cast includes “Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, Malia Baker as Mary-Anne Spier, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer. The cast will also include Alicia Silverstone as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the selfless single-mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of all around good guy Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein.”

Author of the book series Ann M. Martin is set to executive-produce the series, with Rachel Shukert (Glow) set as showrunner, and Lucia Aniello (Broad City) will serve as executive producer and director.

I loved this book series growing up, and even the 1995 movie. I think this updated series will speak to the next generation, and will gain a good following. Check out the poster for the series below, and watch The Babysitter’s Club on Netflix later this year.
