THE BATMAN Co-Writer Mattson Tomlin Developing an Original Sci-Fi Script Called 2084 for Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures has picked up the rights to an original script called 2084 from The Batman co-writer Mattson Tomlin. THR reports the story is being described as “a spiritual sister to George Orwell’s 1984.” The script was highly sought after, but landed at Paramount, with Transformers and G.I. Joe producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing.

We have very few details on the project, only that it compares to the classic dystopian novel 1984, as well as the films Inception and The Matrix. Even before getting picked up, 2084 has been buzzed about throughout Hollywood and has a lot of filmmakers and actors looking to get involved.

We will keep you posted when we hear more about the project, which should be soon, as a lot of people are getting excited to get this movie made.
