THE BATMAN Gets a Release Date and Ben Affleck Is Done Playing the Dark Knight

Here’s some news that you won’t be surprised by at all. Ben Affleck will not reprise his role as the Dark Knight in The Batman. This isn’t the first time that this news has been reported, but for some reason it keeps getting reported over and over again and some people are still like… “wait! whaaaat!?” Affleck confirmed the news on Twitter:

Now on to some new news! Deadline also reports that The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25th, 2021. That’s my birthday! So, I know what I’ll be doing!

The Batman will center around a younger version of the character and casting will be starting on the film soon. Director Matt Reeves has said that the film will be filled with a Rogues Gallery of characters. He also said that this will be a Batman noir story and that it will focus on Batman in detective mode.

I’m curious to see who Reeves ends up casting as the new Caped Crusader. Who would you like to see cast in the role?
