THE BATMAN: PART II Is Reportedly Inspired BATMAN: EARTH ONE and Script Was Turned in Before Christmas
Some new rumored details have surfaced for Matt Reeves' plans for The Batman: Part II. One of the more interesting things being reported is that the film may be partially inspired by Geoff Johns' work on Batman: Earth One.
On a recent episode of The Hot Mic podcast, host insider John Rocha shared that the script for the film was completed and turned in before Christmas. There have been a lot of rumors going around regarding the villains that will appear in the film one of them being Hush.
Other villains that have been named include Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Pyg. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn recently debunked reports of this saying that only some of these rumors were "made up."
On the podcast, Rocha mentioned that he heard "half" of the characters mentioned above will be introduced, with Jeff Sneider saying that Tommy Elliot, aka Hush, is indeed a part of the film.
Rocha went on to say that the story will be at least partially based on Geoff Johns' Batman: Earth One. The first film of which took a certain amount of inspiration from Vol. 1, so I guess that means the sequel would be more influenced by Volumes 2 and 3.
Batman: Earth One is set in an alternate universe where Bruce Wayne is a flawed and relatable character, struggling to find his purpose as Gotham City's protector. With the help of Alfred Pennyworth, a former SAS operative, Bruce embarks on his journey to become Batman, confronting both familiar and new villains along the way. The story delves into the psychology of Batman as he seeks justice in a gritty and realistic Gotham. Hush does not appear i the story, but the later volumes include Clayface, Scarecrow, and a female take on Two-Face in Harvey Dent's twin sister Jessica.
This is all just a rumor for now, but there very well can be some truth to what were hearing.
