The Batman director Matt Reeves, Paranormal Activity’s Steven Schneider and Armaan Zorace of a newly formed genre production banner Dark Hell have teamed up to produce a period horror film titled Switchboard.

The script for the film was written by actor-turned-screenwriter Devon Graye and the story is set in the late 1940s. It centers on “a young female switchboard operator who finds herself communicating with, and possibly targeted by, an active serial killer. As their conversation intensifies, she begins to question her safety, her sanity and, ultimately, her very reality.”

This sounds like it could make for a pretty cool horror flick! I enjoy period-set horror films. These days we are flooded by horror films that have a contemporary setting, so it’s nice to see a film tells a story set in a different time.

Graye got his big break with the 2016 Black List spec Allison Adams. He also worked on the thriller I See You, starring Helen Hunt, which was picked up for release by Saban Films.
